Zetex is a leading provider of high performance, analog semiconductor solutions for signal processing and power management. The company designs and manufactures a broad range of standard and application-focused linear integrated circuits and discrete semiconductor products using a wide variety of wafer processing technologies.

The company was founded in July 1989 as a management buy-out from Plessey Semiconductors and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Telemetrix plc. In April 2004, following the completion of the sale of the Trend businesses, the company's name was changed to Zetex Semiconductors plc. Shares are publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol ZTX.

With its corporate headquarters and registered office based near Manchester, UK, Zetex employs more than 750 people worldwide. Manufacturing, design and test facilities are located near Manchester, UK; its operations in Neuhaus, Germany carry out package development, assembly and test. Zetex also has a joint-venture manufacturing facility in Chengdu, China.

Sales offices are located in Munich, New York and Hong Kong, and direct sales activity is supported by a world-wide network of distributors and representatives.

Zetex products

The Zetex portfolio comprises both power management and signal management products used in a huge variety of applications, such as cellular phones, digital cameras, home theater, hand-held games, PDAs, laptops and battery chargers, to name just a few.

In Power management, Zetex offers a growing range of IC products and solutions, including LED drivers for LCD back lighting, single/dual cell boost converters, current monitors, fan motor controllers and low dropout regulators. Discrete products include a wide range of low on-resistance N and P channel MOSFETs, low saturation bipolar transistors, dual transistor combination products, Schottky rectifier diodes and RF Schottky barrier diodes.

Signal Management includes an expanding range of audio, video and satellite products such as video and high speed buffers, video amplifiers, video sync separators, filters and LNB bias controllers. Discrete signal Schottky and varactor diodes are also available.
